【Event】SORA Technology Advances to Finals in the Pitch Contest & Award at Japan Mobility Show 2023, Recognized for Malaria Control Project in Africa

Nagoya, Japan – SORA Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi; Founder and CEO: Yosuke Kaneko; hereinafter referred to as “SORA Technology”), dedicated to transforming lives through “SORA,” proudly announces its qualification for the finals in the startup-focused Pitch Contest & Award held in conjunction with Japan Mobility Show 2023 (JMS), where over 470 companies from around the world are exhibiting.
SORA Technology’s innovative approach to malaria vector mosquito control using drones and artificial intelligence in Africa received notable recognition. Out of the 15 finalists, one will be selected as the Grand Prize winner, and SORA Technology will present its solution in pursuit of this prestigious accolade.

Japan Mobility Show 2023, with participation from over 470 companies, is the largest exhibition in Japan focusing on mobility. This event has evolved from the traditional “Tokyo Motor Show,” aiming to be a platform fostering startups that will shape the future of various industries and mobility, offering visitors a glimpse of the “Future Japan.”

About the Pitch Contest & Award

  • Location: Tokyo Big Sight West Exhibition Hall

Held as part of “Start Up Future Factory,” one of JMS’s main events, this is Japan’s largest contest with a total prize money of 12 million yen. Winners will be selected in three categories: “LIFE×Mobility: Future Living,” “EXCITEMENT×Mobility: Future Excitement,” and “INFRASTRUCTURE×Mobility: Future Infrastructure.” The Grand Prize winner will be chosen from the winning companies in these categories.

SORA Technology’s Presentation

SORA Technology will present its innovative malaria vector mosquito control project that combines drones and artificial intelligence in Sierra Leone, Africa, under the “LIFE×Mobility: Future Living” category. Approximately 17 companies participated in the semi-finals held on October 9th, with 5 companies advancing to the finals on November 4th, where they will vie for both category awards and the Grand Prize.
