Innovating Malaria Control

SORA Technology is pioneering the use of drones and AI in Larval Source Management (LSM) to eradicate mosquito larvae before they mature into adults. This innovative approach aims to reduce human effort and environmental impact traditionally associated with LSM. By identifying high-risk breeding grounds for targeted insecticide application, this technology promises to lower malaria infection rates, improve living standards in Ghana, and contribute to economic development across Africa. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal of ensuring health and well-being for all.

Partnership with the University of Ghana

In December 2023, SORA Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Ghana’s Department of Basic and Applied Sciences to collaborate in areas such as drone manufacturing and data collection on mosquito breeding sites. This partnership also extends to internships in drone and AI development, furthering the company’s commitment to nurturing digital talent. Additionally, in December 2023, the company was selected for the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) “SMEs and SDGs Business Support Project,” setting a path toward establishing and commercializing its malaria control technology.
