Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture – SORA Technology (Headquartered in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Founder and CEO: Yosuke Kaneko, hereafter referred to as SORA Technology) is proud to announce its selection for the SUITz Tokyo acceleration program, which targets startups in the Climate Tech sector with participation from venture capital (VC) firms in Japan, the United States, and Europe. Leveraging its AI×Drones and AI×Satellites technologies, SORA Technology is committed to advancing solutions for minimizing the impact of climate change in the Climate & Health sector.
*Climate Tech refers to technologies and solutions contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases, which are a major cause of global warming.
What is Climate & Health?
Climate & Health refers to the health impacts on humans caused by climate change. The World Health Organization (WHO) anticipates that climate change will result in an additional annual death toll of approximately 250,000 people from malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea, and heatstroke between 2030 and 2050. Developing countries, especially in the Global South, struggle to cope without support from developed nations. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions directly contributes to diminishing climate change factors, thereby significantly benefiting human health. Climate change represents the greatest threat to humanity in the 21st century, and urgent solutions are needed.
AI×Drones and AI×Satellites Solutions
SORA Technology has been actively engaged in Africa with a project that aims to eradicate malaria, a mosquito-borne infectious disease, by combining drones with AI (Artificial Intelligence). The technology developed through this project is now being applied to predict occurrences of severe disasters such as floods, and to provide solutions for predicting the outbreak of diseases like mosquito larvae and malaria.
