SORA Technology Holds Results Presentation for Malaria Control Project at JICA Ghana Office

SORA Technology Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nagoya, Aichi; Founder & CEO: Yosuke Kaneko), a startup leveraging drones and AI to combat infectious diseases and climate change, held a results presentation on April 28, 2025, at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ghana Office. The event introduced outcomes from the “Business Verification Project for Building an Efficient Larval Habitat Monitoring System Using Drones and AI” (hereinafter referred to as “the Project”).

The Project was selected under JICA’s “SMEs/SDGs Business Support Program” in December 2023, and demonstration activities have been ongoing in Ghana since April 2024 with the aim of developing a sustainable business model for malaria control utilizing drone and AI technologies.

Attendance by Ghanaian Government and Related Organizations

The presentation brought together approximately 15 representatives from six organizations, including officials from the Ministry of Health and other related institutions in Ghana.
During the session, SORA Technology introduced its approach, which utilizes AI and drones to identify mosquito breeding sites with high accuracy and apply larvicides only where larvae are detected—resulting in more targeted, efficient, and cost-effective vector control.

SORA Technology will continue working to address global health challenges by developing advanced, field-based technological solutions that contribute to sustainable and effective malaria prevention.
