SORA Technology Launches Collaboration with Mining ESG and Malaria Control Companies FUMILAR and Global Vector Services
Expanding Satellite, Drone, and AI-Based Malaria Control Across Mozambique, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, and Guinea
SORA Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Japan; Founder & CEO: Yosuke Kaneko; hereafter “SORA Technology”), which provides advanced drone and AI solutions across public health, agriculture, and climate resilience, announced it has launched a collaboration with FUMILAR LDA (Mozambique) and Global Vector Services (West Africa) to strengthen malaria control and public health initiatives in mining regions across multiple African countries.
In many mining regions across Africa, malaria remains a critical issue affecting not only workforce health but also operational stability. Mining companies are increasingly prioritizing malaria control as part of their ESG strategies, extending efforts beyond employees to surrounding communities. These initiatives are recognized as essential for maintaining stable operations and strengthening community relations.
Across Africa, mining companies actively invest in malaria control programs, making corporate-led public health initiatives a key pillar of ESG.
FUMILAR operates in Mozambique, while Global Vector Services is active in Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, and Guinea, providing vector control and public health services to mining and energy companies with strong local operational capabilities.
Through this collaboration, SORA Technology will combine its satellite analytics, drone-based monitoring, and AI-driven geospatial analysis with local operational expertise to enhance malaria control programs across multiple mining regions.
By leveraging satellite imagery and drone observations, the partners will identify mosquito breeding sites and generate AI-driven risk maps, enabling more efficient Larval Source Management.
The initiative also supports ESG and CSR programs of mining companies by implementing community-level health interventions benefiting both workers and surrounding populations. Discussions are already underway with multiple mining companies to develop concrete project implementations.
