【Notice】SORA Technology Joined Delegation to Meet with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa, Requesting Expansion of Japan’s ODA in Global Health

Nagoya, Japan – SORA Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; Founder & CEO: Yosuke Kaneko, hereinafter referred to as SORA Technology), a company addressing global health and climate change issues through AI and aerospace technology, participated in a delegation of business leaders advocating for global health. The delegation, known as “Business Leaders Supporting Global Health,” met with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa to request an expansion of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) in the global health sector. This initiative aims to enhance Japan’s international presence through increased ODA expenditures.

Delegation Presents Five Key Action Points

  1. 1)Expand Japan’s total ODA expenditures in the global health sector.
  2. 2)Clearly position support for global health as a strategic area of diplomatic policy and actively incorporate offer-type cooperation in the global health sector in future policies for cooperation with Global South countries.
  3. 3)Strategically increase contributions to international organizations in the global health sector, considering the opinions of Japanese companies. Particularly, pledge funds to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, which will hold a replenishment meeting later this year and into next year. Additionally, strengthen Japan’s influence within international organizations.
  4. 4)Establish and enhance mechanisms to support the procurement of Japanese products and services by international organizations in the global health sector.
  5. 5)Reflect the discussions and outcomes of the expert panel on new financing for development in the policies for cooperation with Global South countries and the “Comprehensive Strategy 2024.”
