【Event】SORA Technology Takes Part in Pre-TICAD Summit on Climate and Health, Discusses Climate Change and Health Initiatives
Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan – SORA Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; Founder & CEO: Yosuke Kaneko) actively participated as a panelist in the “Pre-TICAD Summit on Climate and Health” held on April 17, shedding light on initiatives to address climate-related health challenges in Africa and stressing the importance of private sector understanding and funding for the advancement of such endeavors.
The event, held in anticipation of TICAD9 scheduled for August 2025 in Japan, aimed to raise awareness of climate change and health (C&H) investments in Africa and encourage support towards this cause.

◾️Private Sector Understanding and Collaboration Essential for Solution Development and Expansion
Vice President Masaki Umeda represented SORA Technology at the Pre-TICAD Summit. He engaged in discussions from the perspective of Japanese private companies and startups regarding the role of the private sector in the investment ecosystem of global health.
Umeda introduced SORA Technology’s efforts primarily in West Africa in combating malaria and climate change-related initiatives. He emphasized the global risk posed by mosquito-borne infectious diseases, including malaria, and highlighted their essential perspective in TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) scenario analysis. Furthermore, he pointed out that collaborative solutions with private companies, ultimately contributing to the expansion of the investment ecosystem, are crucial.

- 3) To gauge interest from political and administrative circles, solicit and aggregate opinions on climate and health agendas, and formulate priorities for TICAD2025.
- 4) To underscore the importance and effectiveness of Japanese private sector investment and technology in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change on African health and strengthening adaptation measures.
