Partnership on Satellite, Drone and AI based mining intelligence system

SORA Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Japan; Founder & CEO: Yosuke Kaneko; hereafter “SORA Technology”), which provides advanced drone and AI solutions across public health, agriculture, and climate resilience, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ethiopian Mineral Corporation (hereafter “EMC”).

EMC is a state owned enterprise mandated to support economic development through the responsible exploration, development, and management of Ethiopia’s mineral resources, ensuring environmental protection, operational safety, and compliance with national and international standards.

SORA Technology and EMC recognize the increasing need within Ethiopia’s mining sector to enhance productivity, strengthen environmental stewardship, and improve the management of operational and climate-related risks, including those associated with mine sites, tailings storage facilities, and land disturbance.

Simultaneously, SORA Technology and EMC acknowledge that the integration of high-resolution spatial data, drone technology, and AI analytics can significantly improve site visibility, enable early risk detection, support regulatory compliance, and facilitate data-driven decision-making across the mining lifecycle, and mutually determined to explore a collaborative partnership to leverage our respective expertise and capabilities for mutual benefit.

This collaboration aims to explore the deployment of SORA Technology’s drone and AI-based technologies to enhance mining productivity, operational efficiency, safety, and environmental management in Ethiopia.
