SORA Technology Participates in Unitaid Partners Forum
Toward the Realization of Universal Health Coverage (UHC)
SORA Technology Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Japan; Founder & CEO: Yosuke Kaneko; hereafter “SORA Technology”), which provides advanced drone and AI solutions across public health, agriculture, and climate resilience, announced that its Vice Chief Executive Officer, Masaki Umeda, participated as a panelist in the Unitaid Partners Forum: “Driving Innovation and Access in Global Health toward UHC.”
The forum was co-hosted by Unitaid, the Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), and Nagasaki University, and brought together global health leaders and practitioners to discuss the role of innovation and partnerships in advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The event was held to promote collaboration that bridges Unitaid’s global mission with Japan’s health innovation ecosystem, with the aim of expanding access to affordable healthcare for all. At the forum, Masaki Umeda participated as a panelist in the panel discussion titled “Collaborating for Greater Impact” where he introduced SORA Technology’s proprietary AI drone technologies that identify and eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
In collaboration with Unitaid, SORA Technology has launched a malaria elimination project utilizing this technology in November of this year, working in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) of the Republic of Mozambique (Link).
During the discussion, Masaki Umeda emphasized the importance of expanding access to cost-effective, digitally enabled infectious disease control solutions, enabling outreach to vulnerable communities that have historically been underserved. He also highlighted the critical role of prevention in reducing the burden of disease and alleviating financial pressure on households by stopping infections before they occur.
Guided by its mission, “Transforming lives from the sky (SORA),” SORA Technology remains committed to contributing to the realization of sustainable Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through the integration of science, technology, and public health.
